Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) is a Schedule A and Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. The refinery owes its origin to the commitment made in the historic "Assam Accord", signed on 15th August 1985, and was envisioned as a key driver of economic development in the region.
Often referred to as the "Assam Accord Refinery", NRL is strategically located in Numaligarh, Assam, near the world-famous Kaziranga National Park. Incorporated on 22nd April 1993, NRL specializes in crude oil refining and the marketing of petroleum products.
